Salvesen Logística has managed the new MAKRO mixed-use and multi-temperature platform in El Prat de Llobregat, Barcelona.
Located in the Pratenc industrial park, with a strategic location just two kms. Away from free zone, the center is for Makro its first wholesale establishment closed to the public and dedicated exclusively to the preparation of orders for its distribution service to hotels.
Likewise, it is also the first center of these characteristics in organized wholesale distribution in Spain.
The center has state-of-the-art facilities, with almost 14,000 m2 between the different zones, refrigerated, F&V and frozen areas, and 30 loading and unloading docks.
As a pilot platform for its new "Depot" warehouse model (extension of the 'out of store delivery' spaces that in recent years the chain has enabled in its cash registers, sacrificing part of its sales area), MAKRO has relied on Salvesen Logística to start the "delivery" activity as its main path of growth for the coming years, this center being the point of consolidation and re-dispatch of local suppliers for the supplyy ot Catalonia, Aragon and the Balearic Islands.
